As a parent, I will …

  • Be an example by making meals an important part of my family and friends' week.
  • Role model healthy eating.
  • Prep meals with foods from all five food groups (milk; fruit; vegetables; whole grains; meats, beans and nuts).
  • Cook with my friends and family.
  • Fill our kitchen with healthy foods.
  • Turn off my phone, tablet, computer and the television when we eat together.

As a child, I will …

  • Help plan, cook, and clean up after meals.
  • Stay open to trying new foods.
  • Turn off my phone, tablet, computer and the television when we eat together.

I take this meal pledge to eat better and together. I'll even try to keep this habit going.
